Happy Memorial Day

In honor of all the soldiers that have died in American wars.
I have recently become obsessed with the movie "Glory" and Matthew Broderick is my new favorite actor. Memorial Day makes me think of Colonel Robert Gould Shaw who led one of the first black regiments in the American Civil War, and how they all gave up their lives to fight for their freedom.
So, uh...happy memorial day. God bless.

Eh-hem.

Dammit summer, hurry up!!

There's only ONE week until school ends and summer break begins.
I couldn't be more excited for senior year. I passed all my TAKS, and now I don't have to worry about not graduating. I'll admit I was very worried about the science portion, since I stink at science. Which kinda sucks since I have to major in biology to become an oncologist...And I'm taking AP biology next year...
Anyway, all I have to do is get through this week and then summer begins! I can't wait, cause I'm tired of school, and even more tired of being a junior.
Summer needs to get here quick, so I can sing Summertime by the Fresh Prince repeatedly. So I can wake up and NOT have to panic about being late to school. So I can sleep in for hours and hours. So I can get a summer job, and finally have money to buy the things I want and go where I wanna go. So I can watch Full House and Saved By the Bell and Fresh Prince marathons. So I can watch Arthur and Gilmore Girls in the morning. So I can talk to my friends all day on Facebook, and not have to be MIA from Yahoo! Answers all the time. So I can sit back and watch drama unfold on Formspring and not have to miss a second of it. So I can go to Six Flags, and possibly SeaWorld again. So I can lay in bed, and daydream, and reminisce, while drinking an ice cold Root Beer, while watching BrainSurge. So I can catch up on two semesters worth of lost sleep, DAMMIT.

So c'mon summer. I'll be waiting, baby. ;)

This goes out to all the celebrities that have died.

Wow, it's just too much. It's really sad.
1) Michael Jackson: my favorite artist of all time. I grew up on his Dangerous album, listening to Black or White, Who Is It, and Heal the World. His death was probably the darkest, most depressive time of my life. I cried for over 3 months. I don't think I'll ever forget June 25, 2009. But he lives on through his music.
2) John Lennon: He was an amazing artist and a great person. I didn't become a fan of him until some time after Michael Jackson's death. I first saw the video for "Say Say Say" when they were doing all of Michael's videos after he died. Then I became interested in Paul McCartney, which led to research of the Beatles, which led to my current love and obsession with John Winston Lennon. I know I wasn't even alive when he died on December 8, 1980, but if it's anything like Michael Jackson's death, then I know how his fans must have felt.
3) George Harrison: a former member of the Beatles, who died from cancer which is horrible. I love him as a part of the Beatles, but I never really listened to his solo music. RIP.
4) Tupac: I watched 100 Most Shocking Moments in Music, and and Pac's death was on the list. It was horrible. I don't remember his death, because I was too young, but it's still sad to think about. He was an amazing rapper with deep lyrics and he was only 25.
5) Biggie: I especially love Big Poppa! Like Pac, I don't remember when he died, but it's still sad to know that someone who was only 24 had to go out like that. RIP Biggie Smalls.
6) Aaliyah: Even though this was like in 2002, I think I do remember when she died, and all the fuss it created. I remember seeing all her videos on tv and it being on the news and everything. It was horrible to know someone so young died in a plane crash, not only because of a drunk pilot, but also because the load was too heavy. RIP Aaliyah. She was an amazing artist.
7) Gary Coleman: he just died a few hours ago, as of May 28, 2010, 3:30 pm. It's really sad to come back from school and find out that he died from a brain hemorrhage. He was only 42. I'm not gonna pretend I was a huge fan, but I did like Diff'rent Strokes, and if marathons come on as a tribute, I'll watch a lot of the episodes. It's really sad. RIP Gary Coleman. :(

I know I'm missing a shit load of people, but I've got things to do, and I covered the ones I could think of for now. Rest in peace.

Allow me to introduce myself.

I guess I'm a newbie on this thing.
So let's play the introduction game. Y'know, the one where we all sit in a circle and tell a little bit about ourselves. *Crickets* Well, looks like it's just me. Ho ho ho. There goes my dry humor again.

So. I'm 17-years-old. I'm a junior in high school; in a week or so, I'll be a SENIOR when summer starts. And I'm so excited for the new year.
School life: I'm the new secretary of the National Honor Society (we officers are a proud people. ho ho.), I'm an active member of Student Council and the Multi-cultural club, and the soon-to-be vice president of A Cappela. Sound nerdy? You got it, bitch.
I may be a nerd, but I can get crunk.
I like my school fairly enough. I love my friends, who shall remain nameless for now, and I dislike half of the student body, because they act like cage monkeys.
Activities: NHS, Student Council, Multi-cultural club, dance, choir, and piano.
Non-school life: I love to read. I live on Facebook. I like to eat. I'm a Christian. They call me the Grammar Fairy. Grammatical error, I'll zap your ass.
Movies: Mean Girls, Freedom Writers, Help! With the Beatles, and Glory.
Musicians: Michael Jackson, The Beatles, Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Aaliyah, Beyonce, etc, etc.
TV shows: FRIENDS, Arthur, The Hills, BrainSurge, Gilmore Girls, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Full House, Saved By the Bell, The Nanny, The Cosby Show, etc, etc.

ETC, ETC.

Blah blah blah.
